Episode 02: What We’re Leaving Behind In 2020

This week on the MAE Pod we are talking about what we're leaving behind in 2020 (that infamous year!) and what we're taking with us into the new year. One of us is quitting TV, one of us is quitting drinking every day and one of us gushes over Brene Brown.

This week on the MAE Pod we are talking about what we’re leaving behind in 2020 (that infamous year!) and what we’re taking with us into the new year.

First Gabby shocks Mel to her core by sharing that she’s done with TV. It’s traumatic, but we find a way to move past it. Mel talks about how the pandemic affected her “drinking only on the weekend” habit since everything felt like the weekend in 2020.

Then, because no podcast episode is ever truly complete without a Brené Brown reference, Gabby shares about the Unlocking Us episode on how language is a powerful tool, and how it’s often used to dehumanise others. We’re leaving dehumanising language FIRMLY behind in 2020. No matter how provoked we might feel.

Mel talks about how she’s leaving denying her feelings behind in 2020 which we are HERE FOR. And specifically she’s balancing all the hard stuff with some good stuff and pleasurable things in life.

And at the end Gabby mentions her planner (again, omg please stop) but if you’re looking to set new goals and want her planner here it is.

Until next time!
